Consideration should be given to the sensory experience while students travel throughout the school. Attention should be given to lighting levels, flooring graphics and tactile surfaces that assist in easing the navigation experience.

Single-use restrooms that are wheelchair accessible are required. Considerations should include which restrooms are sized and equipped for a changing table, Hoyer lift, room for maneuvering with three people, and are accessible directly from the classroom. Shower infrastructure should be considered for areas that mandate diapering, medical relief and medical emergencies.
